Who are we?
We are a motley crew of doctoral students based at the Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) in Giessen, Germany. Our research work ranges from art education to musical theory, from games studies through philosophy to literary and cultural studies. We are driven by a shared curiosity about how the practices of everyday urban living in our time shape our lives, and how these practices help us imagine and shape our cities in return. Is there a new aesthetics of the urban that arises from this dialogue and, if so, what are its emblems?
